Our surf lessons take place on the
beach in front of life guard tower 18, just south of the
Santa Monica Pier (about 200 yards). To get there, go west
on highway 10 past Lincoln, get off at 4th, go left (south)
on 4th over the freeway until you get to Pico, turn right
(west) onto Pico and follow it until it ends at Appian Way
(right in front of the Shutters Hotel), turn right onto
Appian Way and go about one block until you reach Parking
Lot 3 South at 1750 Appian Way (on the left hand side),
turn left into the lot (parking costs from $5 to $7) and
park. Walk directly out onto the beach towards the
ocean - You will meet your instructor on the beach with
the equipment, in front of lifeguard tower 18.
If parking isn't available at Lot
3 South, you can continue north on Appian until you reach
the parking lot just north of the Santa Monica Pier ($5
to $7), or you can turn around and go south on Appian Way,
past Pico to Bay street, and park at one of the meters.
The parking meters take quarters only and have a five hour
limit at $1 per hour. If on street parking is tight, you
can park in the pay lot just south (adjacent) to Bay street
for $5 to $7 for the whole day. The entrance is on Ocean
Ave.

is a towel, swimsuit, sunscreen and water--make sure to
be hydrated and ready for a great time!
